If you follow Darwin’s theory of evolution, only the strongest of the species survive and reproduce. There are men who subscribe to that theory but to an extreme point. Their belief is that being muscular and huge at any cost resonates with the ladies and an intimidation factor. Being that muscular or strong is sometimes not embedded in certain human genetic codes. Even if they exercise and follow proper nutrition guidelines, genetics will still limit their size. To try and circumvent genetics some “body builders” will use human growth hormones for that desired size.
What Are Growth Hormones?
Growth hormones are naturally occurring chemicals in your body that promote growth and cell regeneration. For simplicity, there are two main types of hormones, those made naturally by animals which are known as somatotropin and those made by human bodies which are also known as somatropin or HGH. When you hear about HGH, you think of sports doping, weightlifters and olympic athletes abusing the drugs. So the short answer to the question is HGH legal is a resounding no.
Growth hormones have been banned by the NCAA, Olympics and most major sports. When people use growth hormones, it comes from a prescription by injection from the doctor. Any other way you are wasting your money. Taking a pill of growth hormone will not work since it will be destroyed in your stomach. So when you see other types such as HGH supplements such as Growth Factor 9 and HGH sprays which are over the counter and advertise as stimulating growth. These supplements and elixirs are false advertising and usually are made of with minerals and chemicals that might promote growth but can’t be proven. Trust your doctor.
HGH side effects
Although HGH is a natural substance in our bodies, side effects do occur due to too much growth hormone. The side effects of HGH include joint swelling, joint pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, swelling, high cholesterol, increase risk of diabetes, pituitary tumors and in rare cases an increase risk to Hodgkins lymphoma. There have been instances where weightlifters claim shrinkage occurs of the testicles but i haven’t seen any studies to prove that.
Keep in mind that growth hormones require activity to control the weight gain you are creating. You can’t sit on the couch and take growth hormones thinking you will become a perfect body overnight. Lack of exercise can lead to breast enlargement, weight gain, back pain and constipation. For the non-athlete types, growth hormones are prescribed when you have a genetic defect that limits the amount of HGH you body produces.
Have you used growth hormones for athletic competitions?
