Has anyone watched the food network? The recipes and places to eat are amazing. But with great food comes weight. A large portion of society suffers from weight gain. Keep in mind there is a difference between obesity and weight gain. As you age, your metabolism gets slower so even though you might consume the same amount of calories every year, you actually gain weight faster as you get older. There are two ways around this: first is to reduce the calories you consume (diet) or exercise more to burn off those calories.
But for most of us, the first two options of losing weight is not our preferred method. The preference is a third option, a cheat so to speak called diet pills. After all, if we can achieve weight loss with a diet pill and bypass the workout, we scored the golden ticket. Diet pills are the holy grail of weight loss. The promotion of hard bodies, miracle pills and infomercials just gives us hope in the miracle pill. Pharmaceutical companies have also caught on to this trend. They spend billions of dollars trying to get that miracle pill that won’t kill you.
ACE Supplement
Then there are the supplements that act like diet or weight loss pills. The commercials and all the paperwork will say that they are safe for weight loss but the FDA does not require testing to prove safety nor if they actually work. But what do weight loss pills do for you? Obviously they help you lose weight but lets look at the popular supplement ACE. ACE stands for appetite, control and energy. This supplement is made up of vitamin B6, chromium, spirulina, cocoa powder, green tea extract, geranium flower and caffeine.
The ingredients individually are harmless and well-studied but when combined creates ace diet pills side effects. Lets look at each component and see what it does. Vitamin B6 helps break down carbohydrates and is important in the function of enzymes in the body. Chromium has two functions: decrease and maintain insulin levels in the body which further decrease body fats and raises lean muscle mass and it also stabilizes the serum cholesterol concentration. Spirulina helps control and limit appetite issues and is a good source of B12 which generate energy for the body.
Do you love dark chocolate? the cocoa powder is anti-oxidant, contains caffeine which boosts energy levels (think coffee) and boosts the mood to a happy state. Green tea extracts generate heat in the body which helps consume calories. It is also a strong antioxidant and can help in neutralizing free radicals in human body. Finally there is geranium flower which helps amplify body performance and is considered a central nervous system stimulant.
However, unlike most weight loss pills that compromise the energy levels, ACE diet pills maintain steady and sufficient energy so that a person can work easily without feeling weak or fatigued (a strategy that helps in maintaining compliance for longer period of time)
Side Effects Of Weight Loss Pills
All the ingredients sound great but there are diet pills side effects you have to consider. There is no clinical evidence to support the formula as a whole as safe and effective. So the things you should know is ACE diet pills contains some harmful side effects that can affect the health of a person in long-term use. Some of the harmful side effects include difficulty in breathing, rise in blood pressure and heart beat. There is also the issue of tingling, headaches, appetite loss, sleepiness, vomiting, nausea and pain in stomach, diarrhea, kidney problems and decrease blood sugar level.
If you take any daily prescription medications, you run the risk of side effects when you mix these diet pills. Unfortunately, there is no shortcut for weight loss other than diet and exercise. Adding untested supplements especially after knowing the above side effects is totally an individual’s decision for reducing weight. But consider the damage being done internally for an external temporary look. I do say it is temporary because once you stop consuming diet pills the weight gain does come back.
Is your long-term health worth risking for short-term weight loss?
