The natural drugs in the world such as marijuana, coca and opium seem to be falling out of favor. These drugs might be considered plain and vanilla to some users. This has given the rise a new kind of drugs, namely synthetic drugs. Pharmaceutical companies have published a wealth of information about chemical components that affect and alter the mind. Underground chemical labs have gathered this information and transformed them into chemical variations that could possibly alter your mind. Law enforcement is slow to respond and underground labs keep altering chemical structures to stay in front of the authorities. Now mix in various combinations of legal and illegal drugs and you have the potential for fatal doses.
Dimethocaine
Dimethocaine freebase is a synthetic version of cocaine. It has been used as a local anesthetic and has half the stimulant properties of cocaine. So when you buy dimethocaine, you are better off buying real cocaine unless you want to pay double to get the same high. Dimethocaine has been mixed with other chemicals as a bath salt and at times mixed with caffeine to get a premium rush. There is even a website called dimethocaine erowid that explains the various combinations and their dangers.
2CP
2 CP has one of those long chemical names (2-(2,5-dimethoxy-4-propylphenyl)ethanamine) so you know if you can’t say it you should not use it. It is formed as a white powder. The 2c-p effects are slow to start especially if ingested but are long lasting in some cases lasting more than a day. When taking 2-cp, you get strong hallucinations, psychedelic and etheogenic experiences including open eye and closed eye hallucinations. The side effects include hospitalization and death.
Ketamine
What is ketamine you may ask? Ketamine is a synthetic drug used as an anesthesia where normal anesthesia is not available. Think of using Ketamine in a battlefield situation by medics. It is mostly used in animal care since modern medicine has other anesthesias readily available. The Ketamine drug has addictive properties similar to opioids. The side effects can include depression, hallucinations, changes in blood pressure, changes in heart rate, nausea and double vision to name a few.
These synthetic drugs are mostly used in the club or bar scene by younger adults. These aren’t the only ones that are abused such as the ghb drug but the synthetic drugs are the most dangerous. Reason being is that they haven’t been tested using clinical trials to determine toxicity or amount the body can hold. You have to keep an eye out and inform people about the dangers. In my opinion, the high is not worth death.
Have you had a bad experience with synthetic drugs?
